About Me
Hi, I'm Jamie!
My name is Jamie Weiss and I am currently a morning anchor and reporter at KMBC 9 in Kansas City. I made my way to the metro after anchoring and reporting in Northwest Arkansas. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Syracuse University in May of 2017 - Go Orange! I pursued a B.S. in Broadcast and Digital Journalism within the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, and obtained dual-minors in Psychology and Information Management Technology.
For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about storytelling. Everyone I meet has a story and I want to be the person to help share them. My dream is to tell stories globally. I want to share the stories of people who wouldn't otherwise have been heard.
To paraphrase Edward R. Murrow, I hope to give a "voice to the voiceless.” And that's just what I plan to do.
When not on air, Jamie can be seen in the community volunteering her time with local non-profits including Happy Bottoms (Kansas City's only Diaper Bank), Giving the Basics and Lead to Read KC. Jamie has also Emceed events for these non-profits and other organizations including the American Heart Association, Wayside Waifs and the City Theatre of Independence.
