Long-Form Work
In my three plus years at KMBC 9, I've had the opportunity to work on several thirty-minute to hour-long specials. Some were in-depth documentaries, some were live events and there was even coverage of a Super Bowl Victory Parade! I'm always looking for a way to dive deeper into a story, and getting the extra time to do so is an experience I treasure.
KMBC 9 Chronicle: Up in Smoke
What makes Kansas City Barbecue the best in the world? As a Texan living in KC, it's a question I needed to dive deeper into. In our hour-long documentary, I introduce viewers to the many flavors of KC 'Que, from the competition cooks to backyard grillers and pit builders. Each leaves their mark on the legacy of Kansas City Barbecue, and shape the future of what barbecue could be in Kansas City.
I dare you to watch this special without getting hungry!

KMBC 9 Chronicle: A Pitch Fit for a Queen
When it comes to Women's Sports, there is no town more invested than Kansas City. In this documentary, I take a look back at the city's history in the National Women's Soccer League, exploring the reach of the sport and the impact on future generations of athletes. I had also secured exclusive interviews with the Team owners during the duration of our project.
It's easy to cheer for the KC Current when watching this piece.

Cleared for Takeoff: The New KCI
Kansas City International Airport debuted a modern airport in 2023, but it was a project decades in the making. I contributed to our live special at the airport by field anchoring, introducing stories I had worked on ahead of time and live interviewed the leader of the project. I also had a unique opportunity to spend the 24 hours leading up to the new airport's opening by flying out of the old airport on their final flight, and flying into the airport on it's first arrival the next morning with a group of Aviation enthusiasts.

Cleared for Takeoff: Garmin KC Airshow
There's nothing quite like the sight of the Blue Angels flying overhead. I was asked to last-minute field anchor this live special from the New Century Air Center, introducing viewers to the sights and sounds of the Garmin KC Airshow.
